What if you could only work 3 months out of the year?
Let’s talk seasonal businesses.

Is it possible to secure cash flow for the year in a short window?
Can these types of businesses be scaled?
Are they worth it?
If you do it right, 100% absolutely, yes. You CAN operate for a few months and make it stretch over the full year.
Like everything else in life and business, the magic is in the planning.
But first: please take some time to restore yourself. I know this sounds silly coming from the founder of Hustle Trucks, but hustle culture is over. Take care of yourself and the rest will follow.
Staying “on” is not endurable - and living in survival mode is a fast track to burnout.
If you’re like me and think ‘but if I’m resting nothing is getting done!’, don’t be fooled. Rest is when some of the best ideas reveal themselves. Kind of like how we come up with our best ideas in the shower — when there’s nothing else to think about our minds can do what they do best.
So how does running a seasonal business work? Surprisingly well. Imagine getting a do-over year after year!
Whenever your season ends, you get a great opportunity to review what worked, what didn’t, and what you want to do bigger/better/cooler next time.
Even if you've had success in the past, you can't expect it to last forever. Predictability can give your rivals an opportunity to close the gap or even overtake your advantage. Don't allow complacency to risk what you have worked hard to achieve.
So what’s the plan? Um…planning.
Consider this when thinking about how to stretch your sales throughout the year:
Offer special promotions or discounts for early orders to encourage customers to buy in advance.
Monitor trends and customer feedback regularly to make sure your seasonal offerings meet customer needs.
Consider running a loyalty program or creating a referral program to reward customers who come back season after season.
Take advantage of seasonal opportunities to create unique products or services tailored to the season.
Leverage influencer marketing to get your products in front of potential customers.
The hottest tip: targeting campaigns. If you’ve read this piece you’re proof they work ;)
